How HallStride works

A simple pass workflow from request to return.

HallStride is designed to keep the classroom workflow quick while automatically applying the rules and visibility your campus has configured.

1

Find the student

A teacher searches the campus roster and selects the correct student. Student verification helps reduce the chance of issuing a pass under the wrong name.

2

Choose the destination

The teacher selects from destinations available to that classroom or staff member. Capacity information can be applied to locations such as restrooms.

3

HallStride checks campus rules

Configured limits and destination capacity are evaluated before the pass begins. When a rule prevents the pass, the teacher receives the applicable restriction rather than creating the pass anyway.

4

The pass becomes active

The student appears in the teacher's active-pass view and in the live Hall Monitor, where staff can see the destination and elapsed time.

5

The pass is ended

When the student returns, the pass can be ended from the normal teacher workflow. Authorized staff can also end a pass from Hall Monitor when needed.

6

The record stays searchable

Completed pass activity is available in Pass History for filtering and review, and the activity contributes to campus analytics.

Behind the workflow

HallStride keeps the rules in the system.

Instead of asking every teacher to remember every hallway rule, administrators configure the settings HallStride uses for pass creation and campus monitoring.

  • School-defined destinations and destination availability
  • Restroom capacity limits and student daily-pass limits
  • Administrator and teacher roles
  • Student and staff management
  • Substitute Mode for temporary classroom coverage
  • History, filtering, analytics, and login tracking for follow-up
